In particular, the limited understanding regarding \u201cnatural hydrogen\r\n                                systems\u201d including the chemical and\r\n                                geological mechanisms of natural hydrogen generation represents one of the most\r\n                                critical challenges. Therefore, elucidating the mechanisms from generation to storage is\r\n                                the first step toward\r\n                                developing natural hydrogen as an energy\r\n                                resource.<br>\r\n                                Kyushu, where Kyushu University is located, possesses both the natural conditions and\r\n                                social infrastructure necessary\r\n                                for the development of natural hydrogen resources, making it one of the most promising\r\n                                regions for advancing natural\r\n                                hydrogen exploration and commercialisation.<br>\r\n                                Building on the knowledge and insights gained through previous surveys and analyses,\r\n                                this project aims to accelerate the\r\n                                realisation of a hydrogen-based society in Kyushu from both technological and business\r\n                                perspectives.\r\n                            <\/p>\r\n                        <\/div>\r\n                        <!-- \/.p-project-purpose__text-01 -->\r\n                    <\/div>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/section>\r\n            <!-- \/.p-members-related -->\r\n            <section class=\"p-project-overview c-section\">\r\n                <div class=\"l-container\">\r\n                    <div class=\"c-pagetitle c-pagetitle--inside\">\r\n                        <div class=\" c-pagetitle__inner\">\r\n                            <h3 class=\"c-pagetitle-text\">\r\n                                <span class=\"c-pagetitle-text__eng\">OVERVIEW<\/span>\r\n                                <span class=\"c-pagetitle-text__jp\">\u6982\u8981<\/span>\r\n                            <\/h3>\r\n                        <\/div>\r\n                        <div class=\"p-project-overview__text-01\">\r\n                            <p>In May 2025, Kyushu University and Kyushu Electric Power (Kyuden) were selected as\r\n                                contractors for the \u201cNEDO Leading\r\n                                Research Program \/ Frontier Development Project\u201d, solicited by the New Energy and\r\n                                Industrial Technology Development\r\n                                Organization (NEDO). We jointly began research and development aimed at the practical\r\n                                application of natural hydrogen\r\n                                resources in the Kyushu region. Specifically, Kyushu University conducted the\r\n                                \u201cAssessment of Natural Hydrogen System\r\n                                Potential in the Kyushu Region\u201d and the \u201cStudy of Hydrogen Production Methods in the\r\n                                Kyushu Region\u201d. At the same time, Kyuden carried out the \u201cStudy on Establishing a\r\n                                Framework for Commercialisation.\u201d<br>\r\n                                Both were selected as contractors for the same NEDO project in May 2026 again.
